OK HERE IT IS... I'll post the answers to these questions here since this thread is already getting quite a bit of traffic:
What’s your name?
A: Vincent
Where do you live?
A: Washington State
What’s your level of expertise?
novice, intermediate, expert, etc.
A: Novice Domainer.
Expert Wordpress & SEO, although I just got back in the game a year ago.
Already nailing top google positions again!
How much experience do you have in the domain industry?
years, experience, etc.
A: Zero years as a domainer. But I have been collecting domains since 1998 so 18 years. And I have a knack for finding good ones.
What would you like to specifically learn first?
how to buy a domain, domain history, best selling strategies, government policies, etc.
A:
1) Best way to monetize each of my existing domains.
2) Best selling strategies.
3) Best buying/holding Strategies.
Are you currently working on any projects or ideas?
A: I am developing USD2D-com : Door to Door Flyer Distribution network. The site networks advertisers with US flyer distributors, designers & printers. I have a book for sale there "Start Your Own Door 2 Door Flyer Distribution Business" which has sold a few copies already. Currently wrapping up on the site content (pod cast, videos, etc.. ) Then I'll continue to develop/manage the site and monetize it. I'm open to selling the whole company if the right offer comes along.
I also intend to develop PunkRockBlog-com which is a way for punk bands to promo their music, merch, and press releases for $5 per submission.
I have lots of concepts buzzing through my head... build 100 adsense sites, put out some mobile apps such as "CAT day planner" (a day planner system I invented). More ideas than I have time for... so I need to narrow it down to pay dirt and focus on hustling. Honestly I'd love to be successful at domaining more than anything because it's just so creative, exciting, and I imagine it's relatively simple once you're on the up and up with all the info. I really think I'm cut out for it, I just never got educated until now.
What are your short-term goals in the next year?
A: Immediately, I need to come up with about $30K. I've thought about liquidating my domain portfolio while I'm building/seo sites for clients. Then I can start over on my domain portfolio after I've learned the ins-n-outs.. But by end of year, I want success in earning a living online while dealing with less people directly. I'll be satisfied if I can earn at least $2000 per month Domaining, and Adsensing, and building passive web site ventures... preferably, membership websites, ebooks, videos, that sort of thing.
What are your long-term goals in the next 5 years?
A: To be earning at least $100,000/yr via passive assets and active domain investment and online ventures. I see myself making millions, I just need the right mentors and to keep learning and working hard.
I'd also like to buy some acres, and develop it permaculture style, and build tiny houses for recreation. Employ people who need an opportunity and therapy to deal with depression. And I also want to share Nonviolent Communication and NLP with people because these are the things that helped cure me from depression so I have a heart for people who are in that place.
What was your first domain you purchased?
A: Bodyboy-com 1999
Why did you start investing in domains? Please tell us the story.
A: I began domaining because I realized it's something I can do from anywhere. Also that I have a real knack and taste for it. Also that it minimizes my need to deal with people/customers/clients directly. And also, I believe I can make millions at it once I've identified a workable strategy.
My story: In 1999 I was 18 years old, I wanted to sell body jewelry but couldn't afford to print catalogs, so I started a website instead and started passing out business cards and printing ads in magazines and trading links. Soon I was top 3 on google. 2000-2005 I was killing it online with BikiniDeals, ProSkateShop and a few others. Ecommerce got really competitive, I was spoiled and lost my motivation, needed fresh air and human interaction, so I gave up online and started doing offline business, (flyer distribution) which eventually lead me back online with USD2D. I became severely depressed for a number of years (honestly lucky to be alive), but I've been cured of all that (thank you Marshall Rosenberg) I'm currently still in poverty situation, barely surviving. Lots of motivation. I have lots of talent, energy, confidence, determination, intelligence, and I have some great domain names to sell or monetize one way or another. Just not sure which route to go with each of them yet.
I need education, a teeny capital (which I'm sure I can generate by selling one or two of my domain names) but more than that, a strategy I can put to work now, to turn my finances around and make myself successful again. So I am seeking a mentor/partner in domaining and internet entrepreneurship. Someone who can look at my list of domains, and my talents, and guide/teach me so we can both profit and succeed together. I discovered the power of team work and the importance of partnerships a couple years back so I'd like to apply that and get this show on the road.
