Dear domainers,

The domain med.TV is now in Sedo auction. For any details please pm me.

http://www.sedo.co.uk/auction/auction_detail.php?language=e&auction_id=10216&tracked=&partnerid=

This is one of the TOP Premium domains in the .TV Marketplace. Just watch the facts:

a) 1.220.000 Google results for med.TV and 435.000.000 results for the word med!

b) Over 28 channel networks with the name med TV!

c) All other med.xxx and medtv.xxx all registered.

d) 3 character domain.

e) Med is the most common phrace in the medical industry.

f) Reserve Price is already met! (The higher bidder when the auction close gets the domain.)

Any guess for the auction's ending price?

I have to agree with everyone's comments re Sedo. The thing I can't tolerate is them not responding to emails ... it's as though they just ignore you. It's this kind of frustration that prompted me to do something. I've worked out that it's better for me to try and sell my names myself, so I set up www.namesell.com for that very purpose. Still early days with the structure and pricing, and I haven't automated the payment system yet, but at least this strategy gives me more control over the sale of my names. With the payment system you can set up for auto payment through PayPal (up to a certain amount) which takes care of the problem of buyers not going through with the deal. Bit harder with the big sales though, but not that hard that it can't be better handled than what we are seeing. The other thing is my instincts are telling me buyers who are non-traders are getting fed up with the auction systems run by these big companies. I believe many buyers are looking for certainty in purchasing a domain name - they want firm prices and they want to know the seller isn't going to reneg on the deal. One of the most frustrating experiences I had was when I first negotiated a sale through Sedo only to discover my offer had triggered off an auction. What sort of sales process is that? That's the type of thing that really pisses people off. Some may say it's good for the seller but I believe it is having an adverse affect on domain name sales.

Anyway, that's my two bobs worth.

Cheers all
