hey guys,

i have had a name which has been earning $10 a day for the past year. in the last three days, the average has gone down to only $0.50 a day and only $0.02 avg ppc from $0.80 ppc, which was steady since early 2006. why do you think this has happened?

The collapse is occurring at sedo too.........the whole ppc industry is in trouble as google and yahoo steal more as do sedo and namedrive....

I've noticed this across the PPC providers as well. Getting very annoying :(.

I too have noticed a dramatic decrease in ppc from ND. :(

they could have had issues with the primary ad provider forcing them to display a lesser paying feed or any number of other reasons. These are the chances we take when we entrust others to generate our income.

a more transparent revenue distribution system would kick... but i guess that's never going to happen :(

I've seen a dramatic drop in per-click prices and overall revenues in every parking program - across the board! I've been moving my domains out of all other parking services into iMonetize, which is giving me better revenues than all the others combined. I used to prefer TrafficClub, but even their revenues have dropped.

This *should* be a great time of year for PPC revenues. I wasn't very happy when I saw revenues crash this past summer, but I figured it was just temporary due to the season. It seems that there is a longer-term issue here. Revenues are utterly pathetic compared to where they were a year ago.

I suspect that the proliferation of incentivized traffic has something to do with the fall in parking revenues. Even though most parking programs have implemented strict policies against incentivized traffic (like paid-to-read and paid-to-click), it may have come too late to retain the confidence of advertisers who had paid good money for false traffic.

Yes, the pay per click issue seems to be widespread. I have hundreds of domains parked in Traffic, Fab, and other places and I average pennies a day!

This is not an anomoly, it is widespread.

This industry is not addressing the problems we are facing. When domain industry leaders talk we seem to hear about the prosperous ppc revenues earned and how rosy the future is.

Tell me then why do most of us earn pennies for all our effort?.

Google, and Yahoo report massive earnings by ppc and most domainers see nothing! If the advertising revenues reported by these huge corporations are growing so fast and online ppc revenue is growing that big, surely we who own the domains should be seeing a huge jump in our ppc earnings.

Theres 2 reasons why this might occur, though more that likely as a result of googles "smartpricing" program.

What this does is feed sites with what is perceived as having good traffic with good advertisers and bad with low cpc advertisers. Parking providers can be inadvertantly tarnished with the actions of their customers.

I can assure you that Namedrive are not getting greedy or anything like that, you are simply getting the same percentage though from a lower paying set of advertisers.

The same is to be said with any company (sedo included) that serves you a google feed.

The second reason is that Adword advertisers can also now opt out of their ads being shown on the advertising network outside of a clean search.

Unfortunately, like most things, the few are ruining it for the many. And i know for a fact that Namedrive are working hard to winkle out those parkers that send in bogus traffic and make false clicks. Its a tough job and a never ending battle stopping these fools from thinking that the ppc industry was born yesterday.

Obviously, as well as someone involved in providing a parking solution, I am (with several other ventures I am involved in) also an adwords customer and nothing is more annoying than to receive my report from google.... In fact i'll give you a real example .... Last month, we heavily advertised a UK construction training business at adwords, budget ยฃ500/month. Nearly ยฃ100 of my budget was spent on some bizarre sounding sites subdomains that bore no resemblence (or chance) to what product or service which we were offering. I mean, these sub domains were "/michaeljackson", "/bill_gates", "/war_in_iraq" etc etc. So, together with reporting this fools sites as a fraud, I opted out of our ads being shown on the network.

Thats the answer I am afraid friends.

I also noticed that its taking much longer for ND to update the earnings per click these days. It used to be updated like clockwork at 1PM EST. Yesterday, it happened about 3 hours afterwards and today it is now 5:30 PM EST and still no update!

Id like to give ND the benefit of the doubt though and say the lower payouts are due to advertisers and the companies themselves being more meticulous as to where their ads go, thought I myself haven't experienced a noticeable difference.

I think once the problem of click fraud is more universally and effectively solved, earnings per click will skyrocket.

Also consider that advertising budgets restart at the beginning of the fiscal year, so some companies have yet to implement their eMarketing bids.

If Yahoo and Google are getting greedy off the back of our domains and we the owners are suffering i think we all around the world should unite and remove all adsense/parking etc from our sites/domains for 7 days in protest.. I am sure that would send a clear message.. haha

Thanks Badger for the explanation. I did not know Google had two feeds for parking. I must be in the low priced one. Don't know why as I have many, many good names and most are over two years registered.

Well hopefully a better day will come. Once in a while I get a $7.00 click from Fabulous, but all in all my other clicks are pennies.
