I don't have a ton of experience in dictionary .coms.
But 2 million dollars is not so appealing if they spent xxx,xxx to acquire it.
But 10 million dollars is not an easy sale. Yes it could be worth that, not sure as i really don't know... 4L, dictionary, .com... I'm thinking 5 million is doable.. but 10? I don't know. If you consider that your company would have to profit 10 million after wages and expenses... just free money you could throw around... Then it makes sense.
But then you're limiting yourself to huge fortune 500 companies or very ambitious startups willing to fork over 10 million dollars just for the branding.
Seems very rare. And I understand that the renewal costs for Mask/com is probably not more than $180 for the next 20 years... but yeah.
All in all, I think it was an okay price. Could've probably gone for 5 mil or at least 3 mil.
