Marketing Plan - Arcade Site

Hello everyone,

I’ve recently been contemplating what type of website I should create and spend my time on. From what I’ve seen at NamePros the websites that can make $1000+ a month are quite often arcade sites.
Now I realize that these days there literally thousands of arcade sites on the net and to get your own arcade site getting lot’s of traffic it will take time and skill.

Basically I’m looking for tips on how to get more traffic to my site. Do people think that paid advertising is worth it? Will it bring me enough visitors back to remake that money that I spent advertising assuming I have Google Adsense on my site. Or is it just worth it to build up a large number of free links/affiliations to bring traffic to my site.

SEO is obviously another thing to work on. Although arcade sites don't really have alot of content that google could index.

Any ideas, tips or tricks are very much appreciated and I can give you a feedback rating for them.

My advise is to start from your interest

You can start a blog about your interest and monetize it later based on pageviews, PR etc. Once there are regular visitors for your site, you can start to use CPC, CPA programs as well to turn targeted traffic into revenue.

Here's my last tip:

Take a look at all the famous forum's Marketplace (for selling websites) and you will know what are the latest sites that most people are interested or you can even get a unique idea when browsing around

I say buy one of the new scripts like www.hivearcade.com, its cheap, its new so there will be multiple updates. Even though some of the old ones have all the updates, the new ones usually get updated alot more often and the features should be greater. I think Hive has the best design and will be the most updated. Then go visit www.arcadewebmasters.com and read some of the 1,2 guides and all the othe ones. i own an arcade site and it takes alot and alot of vistors to get 1000 a month with google ads because clicks are only 1 cent to 10 cents mostly with occasional 25 cent click i havent spent anything on advertising in nov i had 20,000 uniques and dec i had 9,000 just by submitting to link dumps and so far i have gotten 3000 hits from search engines so seo does count
