Hi Folks,

this might be interesting for some of you:

One of my stock news services I subscribe to just posted this headline

RCOM Register.com: Mark Cuban reports 9.1% stake in co

No other info was posted, except the headline.

What's Cuban up to?

He's got the money, so why not? Might as well get some other interests outside of basketball..

Being from Dallas, and being a sports fan, I see him every time I turn around. He's quite a character. Almost nothing would surprise me, investment wise. He's got more money than he knows what to do with. He's like a big kid, and the world is his personal toy store.

Was just watching Your World with Cavuto on Fox and they had Cuban on. He confirmed that he does indeed own 9.1% of Register.com.

Perhaps a good investment, but aren't register's prices pretty high?

I remember paying something like $30 on there for a domain that cost me $6 elsewhere.

Very true and more experienced domainers donโ€™t use them but if you were new you would probably type in register when searching for a place to snap up your domain quickly and with so many new markets opened it still seems like a solid investment.

Yup.... exactly what happened in my case.

The first domain I registered was with register.com, but as soon as I saw the lower prices, I took my business elsewhere. Still, given the multitude of people that have yet to get a domain, it seems a sensible business.
