Managing a Website

I have 2 questions.

How much on average would you charge, if someone wanted you to manage their website? eg. update news,content on it.. I'm talking on a monthly basis?

Also, how much would you charge for a design for a website?

I'm asking because it seems like prices have always changed up. I have some local people interested and thought I'd ask here just for the heck of it. I could really use the cash though, since I'm a college student right now.

the range for this would vary a great deal. how many updates do they require each month? what kind of updates? how much time will they take? etc etc.

design: what kind of design? unique? sliced/coded? big site with custom cms or a little mini site? etc etc.

pick a number that's relative to all the other prices out there, and adjust if necessary. go from there.
