Cyber crimes are in the news and finally, it's something good for domainers:

A 26-year-old New Jersey man has plead guilty to stealing and illegally selling an Internet domain in a first-of-its-kind case.

Daniel Goncalves of Union Township entered a guilty plea earlier today in New Jersey state Superior Court for stealing the “P2P.com” domain from Mark Ostrofsky, Albert Angel and Lesli Angel. Prosecutors will recommend that he serves a five-year prison term and pay restitution for his crimes.

Say the guy who purchased it on ebay, isn't he a famous sports star? like a baseball or basketball player or something? - heard about this a few months ago.

Good news BTW, only wish the cybercops would chase other criminals who pray on LLLL,com's or other names not considered as valuable as p2p,com

That's where the con-artist's/scammers are in their zenith as they know that the justice departments don't seem to be bothered with those types of domains.

Maybe this arrest will be the paradigm shift to such attitudes, here's hoping anyway!

Good. Make an example out of him.

This type of stuff needs to be treated very seriously.

I hope sooner rather then later the law will actually catch up with the technology. Also I think the sentence in this case should reflect how much money the site was worth. I think maybe around 150,000 I read somewhere.
