Henry Gribbohm, 30, lost $2600 – his entire savings – on a game called Tubs of Fun at a Manchester, NH., carnival. He wanted to win an Xbox Kinect (retail value of around $100), but quickly lost $300 on the game when the balls he tossed, bounced out of the tubs. Instead of cutting his losses, he went home to get the rest of his savings, which he lost as well in a few rounds of double or nothing.

This was 1st posted in the DU, Johname, and Friends Thread beat you by an hour twenty six lol

This is called chasing money, and it is a big no no in gambling.

Ithink that dude can restore that amount

And looks like his kid had fun

But double or nothing sounds possibly illegal

Update:

Gribbohm said the carnival game operator promised he would get his money back. The next day, he returned for his money and was given $600 and a stuffed banana with dreadlocks. lol (lol added by johname)He said Manchester, NH police officers cannot locate the game operator who made that promise.

The carnival operators told investigators Gribbohm spent far less than $2,600.

I don't think I've ever stepped foot in that thread. May have to take a peek one day, lol.

I hate to play stereotypes, but looking at him in the pic, I'd personally give him his money back too. Don't want to walk around town looking over my shoulder all the time for him and his friends.

I am so sorry for his loss but I must say how he could be so stupid.? He spent his life savings for a carnival game?.... OMG, its really very shocking. It just shows his madness for the game that he didn't even cared for his savings.

LOL, I saw this story on Red Eye last night... A 30 year old man who has a life savings of $2600? that in itself says something don't you think?

Daddy was a loser LONG before he went the Carnival..

I really feel sorry for the kid, and if he's married I feel sorry for the Wife too, He gambled the FAMILY savings away, not even thinking what will happen if he loses and doesn't have money in case of a family emergency, what will he do then? is the banana going to pay for it?

Fortunately for this guy, the Carnival did give him back $600, which was nice.. Las Vegas wouldn't give you back a penny... Speaking of which, when I go to Las Vegas, 7 times out 10 I lose money, I think most of us do, but I plan to lose it by setting aside $200-$300 for gambling only, If I win, GREAT, it's celebration time at the top of the Stratosphere, but if I lose, NO big deal because I planned to lose it anyway.

Let's just hope his son doesn't take after Daddy.
