Anyone here use Mambo for their site? I'd like to see a few examples. Obviously Mambo's site has a demo, but I'd like to see what some people have done.

I really like Mambo myself. I was thinking about using it, but after reading their documentation I was more confused than when I started. I don't own any sites using it but I've seen a few very nice looking sites running Mambo.

Mambo has some innovative stuff but is lacking in other areas. Documentation is skimpy and trying to figure out how the templating system works takes some time. This problem is compounded by Mambo's intention to switch to a new templating system.

I've heard nothing but praise for e107 but I can't remember why I decided not to use it.

Everytime I look for a CMS, though, I keep going back to phpwebsite. The coding is pretty solid and they keep a tight module standard. It's not of age yet and the developers are taking their time but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. I'm playing with it right now ( http://phpwebsite.ebigman.com/ ) and am impressed at how everything seems to work together smoothly and fairly fast.

Yes, there is currently two forums out for mambo. Simple board and loud mouth both are good or theres a component for phpbb

So...if your hosting company allows 1 mysql database and you install mambo then, say, a forum on mambo is that 2 databases or does the forum piggyback mambo?

if you are using simpleboard or loudmouth for mambo then thats only uses your 1 mambo database (same user database etc...) I am not sure on the phpbb for mambo though
