hi there,

i have a wordpress site i've built (with a modified theme), and all the files (including images, etc) are on my paid hosting account.

i need to make a local (?) version of this site that works completely offline - ie. i need a version to just sit and work on my own computer without needing to access the internet for it to work.

how would this be done, most simply and quickly, and what sort of price am i looking at, for someone to do it for me (at namepros)? would i need to change all the image link addresses etc? would they? etc etc.

any help and wisdom before i post this ad would be greatly appreciated!!!

:tu:

the theme is Monochrome Gallery 1.0, by Thad Allender, for Graph Paper Press. The theme uses an automatically changing slideshow, which may be a complication...??

as mentioned, you'd need to install some sort of local php/apache server (i use wampserver, very simple/straightforward). that link that efingerz posted on installing wordpress with wampserver may be useful, you'd just have to dump your online databases and duplicate them on your local machine. then you'd have to play around a bit using phpmyadmin until you changed all the necessary settings from your site's name/path/domain to localhost (since you can't access the wp-admin panel if the site in the wp mysql settings doesnt match).
