Making a Subdomain

Hi,

i have a static site for my business and now i want to add blog to it where i can post news and articles, should i name the subdomain somedomainblog.somedomain.com or just blog.somedomain.com.

Will the searchengines view the blog as a different site and do i need to have a different sitemap and a seperate setup in Google webmaster tools?

xyz.com is your static site. You can create a sub-domain, for blog I would recommend blog.xyz.com to post news and articles.

You need to create a separate sitemap for blog and submit it in your root directory of sub domain. Yes, you need to add as a new site in google webmaster tools i.e blog.xyz.com, a verification code will be required to be added to verify your site. Or you can alternatively upload their verification file in root folder and verify yourself as the owner.
