i just wanted to share a piece of advice with not only the beginners here but the community.

Over the past 5 years I’ve sold more domains through leads I get from landing pages than any other venue.

Make sure your domain names are directing to a for sale landing page of some sort. I get a ton of inquiries for domains through my efty landing pages, more than I do at afternic, GoDaddy, Sedo or NameJet combined.

Lots of buyers type the domain name in their browser or end up at a landing page through backlinks.

I’ve been testing undeveloped and the results for me have been pretty much the same as efty, but efty is one low monthly payment and undeveloped charges a commission. So for me it’s been better to use efty.

Thank you @Doron Vermaat Efty.com has more than quadrupled my annual sales!

I mean, prior to 5 years ago I didn’t redirect my domains at all. Just had them parked. Whatever lander you choose to use is up to you. I’m just saying be sure to redirect your domains to a lander. I like efty because it keeps more money in my pocket then undeveloped. There is no commission at efty, just a small monthly fee to use.

Thanks for the kind words @JudgeMind - it always is great to read feedback like this because Efty was developed for that very reason, help you sell more domains while paying less commission.

Our long term users most often are investors that make regular sales and are comfortable negotiating their own leads because they immediately see the significant savings compared to sending traffic to marketplaces.

agreed that somehting like parking page with sale banner.. could decrease yoru leads.. especially if on mobiel devices, all major companies like bodis or parkcrew have confirmed in definite way that they put ALL their sale banners at bottom of ads.. regardless of any top or bottom settings... so its not even on top.. this does not help lead counts at all. and many buyers are on mobiles.

when banner is on top.. its not so bad.. but still not as good as just sale lander.

add to this the fact that many parked pages get blocked by various adblockers.. and that can add up to a lot of lost leads right there.

speaking of adblockers, it was also confirmed on other threads and via support tickets.. recently.. that redirecting to landers through smething like bodis.. forwhoever does that (maybe you too)... will also get blocked .. if user uses unsupported ad blocker... this is why on another thread, people were looking for alternate ways to redirect than say bodis.. we tested it with some people and it did get bloccked indeed.

    do you know of any?

for all these issues above.. I am personally presently resorted to above.com company which is never blocked by adblockers.. and has sale landers.. and is easy to use.. cause I just set dns to above.com for all my new regs..

also since very recently, I am also letting their brokers handle all my negotations (15% instead of 10% for selfbroker).. so I do not even reply to offers any more.. a bit like afternic I guess.. where you just set reserve etc.

    hope this helps

I just want to ad, that as mainly an end user, for most domains I look that the seller has traffic data for the domain.

Yes traffic a good metric.to judge the "value" of a domain but sad to say, sometimes traffic can be bought! Not saying it is common just something to consider.

Thank you! Perhaps @Doron Vermaat could let us know if efty plans to integrate traffic stats into any of the landers for buyers to see?

We used to have traffic stats integrated inside Efty but as any marketplace or parking company can confirm it's incredibly difficult to filter out bot traffic and offer a reliable data set. For that reason we decided to offer Google Analytics integration instead which gives our users access to extremely details statistics on visitors to their domains.

Unfortunately this integration doesn't allow us to show traffic stats on the front end, for buyers to see, but in my years as sellers I have never had a buyer asking me for traffic stats to be honest.

For those interested, more information about tracking visits with Google Analytics you can check out this blog post: https://blog.efty.com/2018/10/11/get-google-analytics-stats-without-leaving-efty/

yeah... personally I don't think its worth it for stats.. even when I have this option to show them on undeveloped.. and knowing full well endusers wouldn't know about possibility of poorly filtered bot vs nonbot anyway... I hide it anyway... I consider any such extras on lander pages as nothing more than distractions from buying the name.

as far as I'm concerned, and as many domainers do, a simple page with nothing more than "this domain is for sale" and owner's email address.. without even a contact form.. is enough for a serious buyer to inquire.

buyer needs to know the name is for sale. then who to contact about it. simple as that imo.

it is not what I have now, but I think that's where I may be headed eventually.

Yes as buyer, I always check out the history (archive.org/wayback machine, etc) of a domain.

Was impressed by stats when I first started till I start seeing offers like 1000 visits for $1.00. Started cluing in that if I can buy visits.so can anyone.

Currently parking all my domains at Undeveloped but waiting for my first sale so I can buy the Efty white label. It is a no brainer for me to pay a fixed amount rather than giving away commission knowing that the buyer is coming through type-ins. Why would I want to give the commission to Undeveloped if they did nothing (unless it is a buyer who actually found my domain at Undeveloped marketplace)?

One thing that is not encouraging me to go for the Professional tier at Efty is that although I believe having a white label is essential, I don't even own 50 domains (limit for Basic tier) so it seems like overpaying for a product that is aimed at portfolios of up to 5000 domains.

The individual landing pages are free of any Efty branding on all the plans. So unless you prefer to have your domains redirect to your own custom marketplace domain there's no need to subscribe to the Pro plan.

As for Undeveloped, they do a lot more for their commission than some of the established marketplace such as Sedo in my opinion. They actively listen to user-feedback, offer great support and have a very smooth escrow process. It would be my preferred marketplace to park domains if I had no access to a commision-free solution.

I use Efty/Undeveloped as landing pages for 99% of my names. Both provide a clean and professional look that is pretty straight forward in terms of letting a potential buyer know that the name is for sale and how to get in touch. No brainer. Ugly parking pages with ads are just a nightmare for most.

As for visitor stats, I doubt high end users pay any attention to that anyway. In fact, I would argue that if you choose to display traffic stats on a domain you have for sale, that might make a potential buyer hesitate if the name don't have high volume traffic. An end user think differently than a domainer.

Check out Epik's marketplace, which is now also open to domains that are not registered with Epik. All free, including cashing out to PayPal (for NP members, so make sure to send @robepik your account details) (y)

I am sure some domainers do, but end-users not so much, at least in my experience. The good thing is that if someone asks for traffic stats, that you can still provide these to your buyer if you have set up our Google Analytics integrations.
