How are these? Bigtime gambling off the coast of Hong Kong happening in Macau. What are your thoughts and appraisals on these? Thanks.

Obvious keyword potential particularly as the "strip" gets developed out there. It will in time become the East's Vegas though it may take years to get the global recognition on a scale large enough to drive big web traffic.

The .info extension devalues of course - the ".com" or the local tld would be worth 10 times more, but i'd say lox-mid $xx

Cheers

More to the point it is a special region in southern china, already producing more income than Atlantic city. The Chinese mainlanders are pouring over the border to lose there new found wealth and they are the worlds biggest gamblers.

The place is absoulutely buzzing with more casinos appearing everyday since Stanley Ho lost his previous domination.

Sands of Vegas, are opening at least two more, paid for their first new hotel/casino in just nine months :!:

These names are holds and development should see major returns in the future.

I have several Macau/Macao .coms. Don't discount "Macao" keyword terms either. The Sands and the Venetian are actually using Macao and not Macau. Here are their official websites.

http://www.sands.com.mo/

http://www.venetianmacao.com/ <--- Notice the "Macau" version of this URL re-directs to this one.

I haven't checked all of them, but I'm sure it's that way with some of the others as well.

Also, this is taken from Wikipedia.

"The form "Macao" was the original Portuguese spelling, and has been retained in most European languages. In modern Portuguese, the correct spelling is "Macau". During the 20th century, the official spelling "Macau" became more and more common in English-language sources, including most print media.

Since the handover of sovereignty, the government of Macau considers "Macao" the official English spelling of the name, whereas "Macau" remains the official spelling in Portuguese. This is the practice followed in official documents such as passports and immigration forms.

The pinyin transcription Aomen has occasionally been used in English as if it were the official name for Macau. However, this is not the case, as only "Macao" is official in English."

So both "Macau" and "Macao" can be equally important in domain names. Especially when the tourism advertisements start to pour over into the US.
I'm actually 4-5 emails deep into discussions about selling 2 of my names as we speak. If they don't sell right now, like Wot said, they are holders.

Thanks Capiche! So should I have looked for the ao ending instead? Too late now, I hope these do ok. Your advice is solid.

No. I still think "Macau" versions are excellent.. it's just that "Macao" is as equally important.

Even Macau.com and Macao.com are owned by the same company and one re-directs to the other.

Good luck

Thanks for clarifying Capiche. I have a really good feeling about Macau/ao. I have been doing some reading and a lot of premier casinos etc as you have mentioned are coming, are there and are opening this Spring. It truly will be the Vegas of Asia. As it is Hong Kong has the highest number of millionaires in the world and China's economy is booming. Guess where everyone is going to play and vent? Please keep me in the loop/PM with the status of your deal. Would love to know how it turns out. I would be interested to know current and future value assumptions for what I have in your humble opinion. Thanks a bunch Capiche.

Totally agree, I also have macao names and can only see big bucks for these, It is already the Las Vegas of the east - just watch that place - only land constrains the expansion. I will be there in 6 weeks :$:

Yep, been many times and have two bookings for this year, free flights special promotion from Thailand with a low cost airline, also only a 45 min hi-speed ferry from HK, and borders mainland China- a three in one vacation.

Macau is insane, property prices have trebled in the last three years and it is packed with wall to wall gamblers :$: :$:

Nice CoTai name. Those TaipaHome(s) are particularly good ones too. I've ran across listings for Taipa homes in the range of $500,000 -$1 million+ US dollars. So they could be beneficial to someone.
