Do you know any low-weight CMS with SEO friendly URLs?

I am mean not /index.php?entry=entry080601-151233 but /some-words

(not necessarily blog)

it should easy/fast to install
(mayby even text-based = no database)

Would you count joomla as low weight?

I'd say wordpress is lighter than joomla, but still not light enough!

True, sNews is very light. I keep downloading it every 6 months or so, and then I see all that html embedded in the php, throw up a little, and delete it again. Which is a pity, because I really like the solucija designs.

dombastic, if you know what exact features you need to publish your content, it is worthwhile hiring somebody to write you a custom CMS.

-NC-, you are right. The solucija templates are awesome. Way better than sNews.

joomla is not light-weight

i do not need any features
just pretty URLs

ideally it would be text-based
so that I need just to upload the files
no installation, no setup, no database
(and easy backup by download)

found this yesterday, looks pretty sweet:

http://www.concrete5.org/

It does need a db ( mysql ), but the demo is really easy to use, it has friendly urls and the code is only about a 2mb download ( i think the editor is probably most of that )

made a very small site with this today, it is a little clunky, with html embedded in the php ( one of my pet peeves ), but it is definitely light ( 20 files, 65kb uncompressed ), and does not need a database:

www.cmsmadesimple.org

This one i would recommend, very easy to use compared to some cms's (joomla, drupal etc).

Also has a mod rewrite for seo friendly urls.

wordpress has DBs, but if you go with dreamhost they have 1 click installs and it's awesome. plus you have the most customization options with plugins...

does CMS Made Simple have a caching feature to even further make it load faster or is it just not necessary... i find joomla is sometimes overkill for small sites and load times could be improved by something more lightweight

Im not sure, you would have to check the features on their website.

I have just found it very easy to use for more simple websites. It doesn't have as many mods as joomla as it is not as widely used however there is no steep learning curve!
