Love Your Enemies?

For a year I have been using the services of a company to do my all my business cards, but for some reason the owner has always disliked me. I don't know why but he always treated me with disrespect and has always been rather rude. I don't know why I kept going back to that same company everytime I needed cards done.

I try my best to be courteous to people around me - even if I am at the point I wanna give up on people. There are bad days where I do lose my temper.

Today when I was there in that shop, the man saw my logo on my business shirt, and asked what I do, so I said I am a webdesigner. He then proceeded to ask me website-related questions and thankfully I was able to answer him.

Guess what happened? He then later said he was looking for a webdesigner and told me he did not want to get hosting or design by any other company but ME! All of a sudden I was like his new best friend. I was at his shop from 1 pm and ended up being there talking to him a good 4 hours.

Not only that, but the guy beside me waiting for some prints to be done was so impressed, he too wants me to be his webhost. So I scored 2 clients in one go just because I kept going back to that same shop.

God works in mysterious ways.

I agree with Red Hippo, sometimes I want to shout and do a serious blurp at that person but I have learned to hold back and just assumed some people have different personalities than we do, even if the majority of folks would not have liked this person. I find myself leaning to someone when others walk away!

I am happy for you!

I know how you feel, have the a situation now that I am dealing with so I will continue to bite my lip and see use the company service.

People are strange. Usually the ones you think are your enemies are the ones that want to do business with you. When we were in the flea market business, there was a guy that always bought records from us and then would bring them back (he was recording them). After a bit, I told him that he could no longer bring them back and that the sales were final. He got really miffed and we had a heated exchange. A couple weeks went by and didn't see him. No biggie. Then one day he came back and bought up more records than he had before, and he didn't bring them back. So...
