lottory is just a typo, but loto is a game with millions of people involved, so I think you're wrong. Just look at loto.fr, loto.ru, loto-quebec.com/, loto.co.il, loto.ro. This is a great gambling business!

People using ccTLDs, who often prefer a language other than English, often limit searches to websites based within their country and language. If you only use Google.com, you won't notice this Google feature. Google.de, Google.fr, Google.be etc.. all have check boxes directly under the search box that filter out foreign websites (sites outside of their ccTLD and language) from the searches. In this case, Google.fr produces 735,000 search results for the term "lotto" and 1,460,000 for "loto". Which means, of course, in France twice as many people use loto. The Google.com figures you mention are not a good indicator for non-English words.
