How do you do? Greetings from Cornwall, UK.

Recently started looking into this domain name buying and selling malarkey and very glad to have found this place, certainly looks like more of you guys communicate in plain english here, which is a refreshing change from another forum I joined a few days ago where everything read like absolute gobbledegook.

I love the english language, wordplay, wordsmithery and written communication. Also post at UKBF (UKBusinessForums).

Main profession is low altitude aerial photography, otherwise known as elevated photography, although if I manage to see a few of my choice domain names soon, I may just buy myself one of these new fangled flying cars http://www.pal-v.com - looks like the bees knees!! Fantastic, never thought the day would come in my lifetime for a true flying car - excellent!! I want one!!

So, domain names, got just over a dozen all told, three or four of them are hopeless, three more are mediocre middling between completely rubbish and not too bad and another three are absolutely crackers, that is to you Americans here, bloody beauties.

The best three are now going up for sale, and it is with this in mind, that from this community, I hope to pick up some very useful tips and advice.

Anyone that helps me, of course by means of reciprocation, I will do my best in return to help you wherever possible as well.

About two hours ago, got a fantastic generic two come three word domain, on the .com along with the .co.uk - absolutely chuffed to bits to get it. I know that sounds confusing, already I can hear you asking, what is it then, two or three words, do make up your mind. Well, it's two words, absolutely perfect for a very large international industry sector, but the two words together in part make up an extra word which is too, very applicable directly to the industry. I'll whack it up on here tomorrow evening when I know the payment has definitely been processed in full. Absolute beaut' it is. Tickled pink I am. Been dancing and whooping around my office for the past two hours grinning from ear to ear until my jaw hurts.

Anyway, enough of my truntering on - delighted to see you all, and to make your combined acquaintances.

Kindest regards and best wishes from a grim, dim, overcast, grey, soggy, wet, raining, drizzled UK.

Mark

Hi Mark,

Why don't you tell us about that great 2/3-words domain?

Welcome here!

I would love to tell you all about this domain name, it's just a trust issue I have at the moment, well, because ideally, I would love to snap up the rest of the prefixes with it too, and if I post it up here, I know exactly what will happen, you'll all rush in and off my back, make a pretty penny or two.

Trouble is I'm blinkin' brassicked at the moment, that is to you Americans, absolutely skinted. Or put another way, broke. Credit cards are maxed out. Business was appalling over the summer months with my aerial elevated photography, what with all the incessant rain we had here for months on end, so now cannot even afford to get the rest of the prefixes that I would like.

Having said that, I have now got the two main ones the .com and the .co.uk - and if any of you can assist me in getting a very good turnaround on this name in as short a time as possible, whilst teaching me the basics of this business, and too, getting obviously the highest possible price, I am sure we can reach some sort of deal where you could benefit from the name that I have acquired, by snapping up the others.

Particularly I think it would work well with the .eu .in .biz and other key prefixes.

You help me out here, and I'll be delighted to do the same.

On the other hand, the Aussie guy above mentioned article writing.

I do actually do this. Have the domain conversationalcopywriting.com which I am keeping for myself, to develop at some point soon.

Sure my use of the english language is known on a few forums to be fairly unique. This philosophy of you can say more with less is in my opinion, a load of codswallop. The majority of articles out there are so frightfully boring to read, they are so sterile, it gets right up my nose. With me writing your articles, I can guarantee that you will receive unique content that google and the major search engines has never seen before.

My fees for this start at just 15 pounds per article. Pm me if you are interested. At present, only have about 120 to write before I need more new clients. As fast as the money comes in in one direction, out it blinkin' goes the other direction at the moment. Did you know, that living in the UK now, you have to work until June 15th of each year just to pay your taxes?!! This country, I love it for the people and the countryside, scenery, but hell it drives me crazy here the stresses of living, many of you don't know how good you've got it, not living in the UK.

Coming back to the point in hand. The domain recently acquired is not your usual rubbish. I cannot stand looking for long elongated domain names, brand names, business names. They have to be short, snappy, search term friendly, generic and if they combine those factors with a very easily memorable brand name, all the better, and absolutely must be applicable specifically, to a huge market sector. That is the criteria by which I search for the best names. The acquisition of the lastest domain name on the .com and .co.uk prefixes, which has three words in two words, ticks all those boxes without any shadow of doubt whatsoever.

Assistance appreciated.

All the best and kindest regards.

Mark
