Looking for the right script to tweak

I got this idea for a new website (won't go into much detail).
The basic functionality I need to achieve is.

1. allow people sign up and submit a message.

2. allow other members to comment and 'like' the message.
(When they 'like' the message I want their name and avatar to appear below the message.)

Almost exactly the same as logopond.com except without the logos

I'm not really a coder, so I'm hunting around for pre-existing scripts that I can edit.

If anybody knows of any scripts that would contain these functions, please post them here and I'll be forever grateful and will include a link to your site on the final webpage.

I recommend to use WordPress, almost every thing you require is inbuilt !! just minor plugin and template tweaks will be required.

Wordpress would definately do what you want with a few plugins. Would also allow you to moderate messages if you needed to.

You could also write your own pretty easily are you don't need many features. It's made easier by the fact you're not including images.
