I have just recently been hired on with a company that has a horrid domain they use for email and their website. I'm looking to make a move to a more user friendly domain.
The company is Command Center.
Current domain is cmndcenter.com
Now, here are my options. We have already secured the following:
commandonline (.com, .net, .biz & .info)
Looking into other options, command.com is held by a gentleman that uses it for ftp and email only, and is looking for upwards of high 6 figures (not an option). commandcenter.com is registered to Sun Microsystems, but the contact is no longer with Sun, and when you call the contact number, it rings to a meeting room in Sun somewhere, and no one that has ever picked up the phone knows anything about domain registration or who I could contact.
(Now on to why I'm posting in this forum)
commandcenter.net is owned by a very nice lady who is willing to entertain offers from us. Question is this, what would be a reasonable offer, considering it's been owned by this woman since 2000, never used, and it sounded like she really has no intention to use it.
*or, would it make more sense just to go with the name we own, commandonline.com?
Appreciate any comments, appraisals, etc!
Cheers,
Daniel Hoerr
