Top 3 winners to be chosen no later than 31st August, 2006

Besides honor and glory, there are some NP$ to be awarded:

Best Proposal: NP$50
Second Best: NP$30
Third Best: NP$10

Here is the problem description:
Assuming you have about 100 domains in a domain portfolio, all financial and ebiz oriented. Assuming further that you don't wish to develop them into websites yet due to lack of time.

On a daily basis, you get about 800 unique visitors to the top-traffic domain, and around 100 unique visitors to the next highest-traffic domain. Thereafer, you have about two or three domains with mid to low double-digit unique visitors. Then you have a whole bunch of low-traffic domains that generate only single digit unique visitors a day or sometimes even less than 1 visitor each day. The number of low traffic domains thus constitutes about 95% of this portfolio.

How would you maximize total revenues from the above-described domain portfolio without actually developing the domains into websites?

P.S.: Affiliate programs and very simple web pages are acceptable, just not fancy sites that take daily efforts to update and maintain content. In short, lazy, simple solutions. I've never tried any affiliate programs and would appreciate knowing real experiences, contrasting them with PPC parking arrangements, revenue-wise.

My recommendations are to park it in TRAFFICCLUB, 2nd option Fabulous .. You can maximise revenue there.

I am familiar with ActiveAudience, TrafficClub and Fabulous. In fact I am even familiar with Skenzo, NameDrive, DomainSponsor, DomainHop, TrafficZ, ParkingDots.

May be I should mention that Affiliate links and very simple web pages are acceptable, just not fancy sites.

Have an NP member (ie;BarefootTech etc) develop the biggest site as a "mini-site" with google adwords and other monetized links. Re-direct the smaller domains there. Simple and low cost.

I was thinking of directing traffic the other way, to raise the number of visitors to all the weaker-traffic domains, some of them no doubt would be sold in the future.

Alternatively, direct traffic to the site(s) that pay(s) the most $ per visitor.

What I like to know are the ways of improving overall traffic, SEO ranking and revenues using the appropriate linking and ad-revenue or affiliate-revenue strategy or something else that works.

Developing more than a handful (say 5) domains as sites may take too much time at this time. 1 to 3 developed domains may be OK, but then the real question is how do you use them to boostrap the other sites for maximum overall revenues and the eventual profitable sale of the lesser domains.

Thanks to all for suggestions so far. Still brainstorming, and looking for more ideas and answers. Keep them coming!

No one has suggested that NP41215 redirect his portifolio
to porn sites. I always heard that was where the real
money was made.

Appreciate all the input so far.

If anyone wants to add his/her ideas, please do. I reward creativity and effectiveness.

The top three answers will be selected and the promised NP$ awarded this weekend. I've been busy and I want to weigh and deliberate a bit before the winners are finalized.

I don't know how much time you have and what is your budget, but I would suggest that you first develop a simple landing page for all your domains, but add code for Google Analytics for 30 to 60 days, find out where all the traffic came from: direct typ-ins, search traffic...etc. Then if the domain traffic are mostly from the US, park them at SEDO. If a large percentage of traffic came from other regions, park them at NameDrive.

my analysis of your situation:
1. you have a lot domains.
2. you don't want to spend much time
3. you want to get the max net profit.
4. you don't want to develop them into websites.

since you have a lot domains, it pays to have someone to make them into mini-sites. Your net would be higher, if you remove your item #4 constraint.

I've awarded the NP$ to all six winners except Winst, who will get it very soon.

I am new to sending NP$ and I want to share some error I encountered. In fact, this is the second time I encountered it.

The situation is this: After confirmation of the NP$ donation to a particular person, never click "go back" on the browser, or NamePros will deduct the same dollar amount again from your balance, but give no warning whatsoever.

As a result, I fell short of the amount to award Winst, but no doubt I'll be able to do that soon.

I'll do some more research to understand the NP$ transfer system better and will report back.

=========================

OK, Winst has also been sent NP$10 a moment ago.

All six winners should have received their respective awards by now.

If anyone didn't, please let me know.

If anyone got double the amount, let me know too. According to NP's records, one guy did today. I just want to be sure you did get double as NP reported you did that's all. It was a bug and not your fault, so just PM me so I know there is agreement with the NP's report. You can keep the extra NP$ with my compliments. No need to return them.

a mix of parking and contextual advertising. high traffic domains would get parked, low traffic would get contextual advertising. then once that is in place, i would tweak the portfolio's earnings capacity. by testing between the cost per click I receive from a single domain being parked and that same domain utilizing contextual ads (A/B test). Once I have determined which type of monetization method i would use, i.e. parking or contextual, i would twaek even further. taking only the parked domains and A/B testing between different parking programs to determine which program pays higher. CTR will also play a role in the parking A/B testing to the actually page that is parked, i.e. layout may effect CTR so this need to be considered in yout testing.

TESTING! TESTING! TESTING!
It is not just the Best Revenue Solution, it is the only 1!!!
