I am looking to develop a domain of mine into a store that uses amazon's affiliate program or similar program out there.

For example, a site that sells nothing but chairs. It will list tons of chairs on my site, but when they click to order it will take them to Amazon.

If you can do something like this please PM me with some examples of past work and how much it will be.

YOu can use amazon's astore set up.
It is free.
Then if that is not for you,
do a google search for amazon store scripts.
Scads out there.

Thanks. I have a couple I found via a Google search, but I was looking for someone who has experience with these types of programs to get everything set up for me so I don't have to spend hours setting it up myself. Plus, sometimes people can tweak the layouts to make them look a bit more professional.

Try these guys - scriptsgalore.com

I've never used them, but they list on ebay a lot (key: amazon website). I've looked at them a lot, both on ebay and their site, and I like what they've set up and have for examples, but I just haven't pulled the trigger to get one yet. In fact my wife and I were discussing taking the plunge (read: chance) this weekend, but I may now just wait and see if you get one, and get your feedback. ;)

Comes up as malware and blocks me from viewing their site...?
Really?! I never got that. Sorry. Now that puts things in a different perspective. Well, if you look at their ebay listing, key their name, the sites are/were pretty intriguing.

Same here.
It sent me to 3 different fast moving pages to finally end up on some strange search engine page.
I would not buy from them, even if they are on ebay a lot (or maybe because they are on ebay a lot).

If their website is malware screwed, can you imagine getting a website script from them?
Nope, I would not take the chance.

A couple of other product feed management options (multi-merchant):

Goldencan - supports Amazon, it's free, but Amazon is a "4th click" merchant, meaning that on every 4th click from your site you will NOT get commission if that click leads to a sale. I personally think it's ugly, but it's easy enough to use.

Sellfire - Has one free plan, supports Amazon in the two paid versions. Haven't tried it yet.

Popshops - Books only for Amazon, but lots of other merchants. Has one free (javascript) plan.

IMO, the free versions of SellFire and Popshops are more for trying it out and not much practical use.

Associatomatic - Don't expect much search engine love if you use it.

I've had reasonable success with A-O-M and have definitely recovered the upfront cost (several times over) of the paid version.

As enlytend said it doesn't get a lot of G love "out of the box", but if you have the right niche and spend time learning -- AND truly understanding -- the SEO aspects of the script, you can tweak it to point where your site(s) will get SE traffic and then make sales.

Be aware that if you are going to rely solely on SE traffic while you learn to finesse the SEO then you will probably be waiting a LONNNNNG time before sales start to come in and traffic becomes consistent.

Also, A-O-M themes are a bit weak (i.e. bland) so spend some time differentiating your look as I firmly believe this can help improve conversions.

You might also take a look at phpZon via phpBay (WP plugins). I've yet to use it but have had very good results with their phpBay plugin. http://www.phpbay.com

(Ps. I'll be happy to send you my affiliate link for any of the above if you decide to buy. :hehe: )
