Does anyone know of a really good web site builder script (preferably free or inexpensive open source php)? It should allow users with very limited knowledge to create their own website online with point & click / drag & drop ease. I don't want a third party solution -- I want to use the script on my own server.

I'm not sure if this is what you're after, I just had a play with it yesterday and it looks like you can download it once you've built it.

Thanks, but what I'm looking for is a script that will allow me to offer my customers a service similar to that...

Check this out:
http://www.swsoft.com/en/products/sitebuilder/

It costs $20 a month for about 100 clients, or, of course, you could buy it, but it's quite expensive.

There's also this one which is a bit more expensive:
http://www.interspire.com/sitecenter/

I don't think you're going to find anything that's actually free, but $20 a month isn't much for 100 clients. (By the way, I would recommend the one from SWSoft).

Best of luck,

Thanks Sergio, They look great, but I'm looking to buy a script, not controlled or limited by a third party.

Ah, I see, sorry about that. Went ahead and looked a little further. Found these:

http://www.sitegalore.com/
http://www.dragdropsitecreator.com/
http://www.sitereptile.com/

Soholaunch is also an extremely popular and widely used SiteBuilder:
http://www.soholaunch.com

Of course, you could always offer the RVSiteBuilder, which is a standard for most hosting companies:
www.rvsitebuilder.com

Hope this helps..

By the way, I've pretty much listed every available Site Builder script on the market for hosting providers. So, if you can't find anything above that meets your needs, perhaps it's time to find a programmer to create the software for you.

Regards,
Sergio965

[By the way, they are all scripts, including the one's on the other post]
