Logo contest for SiteMastertools - $20

Hi all,
I need a logo for my upcoming site SiteMastertools.com
Offering $20 to the winner.

Very few rules and requirements:

1) No colour limitations, but needs to have a transparent background.

2) Overall size must fit within 400 x 200 pixels

3) Please include "SiteMaster Tools" text somewhere in the overall design.

4) I will require the final high resolution (min 300ppi) PSD file with all layers, effects and fonts, in case I need to change either colors or font in the future.

5) Your choice to include a slogan or not.

6) Must be your own original work, and indemnify me from any Copyright infringement. The winning design will become my property.

Please do watermark your entries.

Payment of $20 can be via PayPal or MoneyBookers.


I'd like to end this contest by this Sunday 13th August at 6pm GMT but reserve the right to extend (could be if either not enough entrants to choose from).

Your 2nd and 4th are best, and difficult to explain but if I was honest with you, they do not look like a 'logo' to me.

Here it is with the "spanner". I grew up on a farm AND took power mechanics in high school and I had no idea a wrench was called a spanner. I had to look it up. :hehe:

Back to the logo, not sure I like the new position for the .com
If you did this to give even more space for the slogan (if I ever get one), then maybe an 'ajustable spanner' could regain a little extra?

That's a monkey wrench :] city boys! haha

OK Here you go. I tried a monkey wrench but the tapering at the right end looked odd with everything else being straight. So this is what I came up with...complete with tagline.

OK, as mentioned in my original post, I am indeed going to extend the dealine - for 48 hours, no more.
So new deadline is now Tuesday at 6pm GMT

Interestingly, nobody has thought of using 'design' tools (compass, rulers, etc.).

Here are the current entries I like are, and feedback:

The 3rd entry by jackieh1791
(didn't like the spanner placed below the .com on last version)

The latest transparent background entries by wwf
(not sure about the words 'MasterTools' standing out more than 'Site')

The latest 'toolbox' entries by mirceaxp
(nowhere to put the slogan, as on the same line as the .com could be confused with domain name. Also, consider toolbox only on the word 'tools'?)

In case you're wondering, there will be no more extension of deadline as I will be taking a break from this week.

UPDATE

As it's late at night (midnight) I haven't played around with styling. The icon includes two instances of tools within the @ symbol, as although you didn't give information on your company, I'm pretty sure it involves the web.

I created two different variations of the same logo.

Created in vector with Illustrator for versatility. It can be exported as PSD if required.

Hi, and thank you for your entry. The a may have looked better as an actual '@' sign? I can see what you say, with the tools being the swirl of the @ wrapped aroung the 'a'.

Anyway, time to announce the winner.

Well done. Please ensure the PSD file conforms to my initial requirements, especially number 4:

You can either email the file to the address in PM to you, or use a service like www.sendbot.com

I am not at my PC very much in the next 10 days, but payment will be sent to you either via Paypal or moneybookers - your choice - once I receive the file. Please advise via PM.
