Hi guys...
Seeing the hype in the 4L.com domains,, the 5L.com domains have started to sell out...
My question--do you guys think that these domains should be held for a longer time or should they be sold if you have a chance....

Same question for all the above extensions

I hear people say that L-LL.com, LL-L.com domains will be big in aroud 3 to 5 years from now...

LLLLL.net domains are not considered of great value as if now(ofcourse leaving a few)

So what do you guys think and suggest.................

I say invest in the good names (just an opinion of course :) ). An LLLLL.com eventual buyout is definite in my point of view. That will increase the price of LLLL.coms. But you can't go wrong if you're holding the good letters. Good letter LLLL.coms are still affordable, so they're a really good investment if you want to hold on to something for a couple of years.

HI

If you have some good LLLLL.com domains I think if you keep them for 3-5 years you may do ok but as for LLLLL.net I think that is a long way off before they become worth anything unless you have a very good one.

Stick to LLLL.com and LLLL.net if you want to make money within the next 1-2 years.

Thanks

Yes i agree..
LLLLL.net will take much longer to sell out...
i am getting the same advice from all the top domainers out there...ie to hold the 5L.com domains for sometime..specially the CVCVC or VCVCV ones....
I guess once the 4L.com business takes a little slow pace, then the 5L.com ones will start to sell at higher prices...

LLLL.com and L-L-L.com are new but apparently solid markets. I suspect wise investments there will do OK.

There are 26 times the number of LLLLL as there are LLLL. People were saying that they thought the poorer LLLL.coms would never sell out - even the owner of DYYO, which was the site people used to search for LLLL.coms questioned if the poor letter LLLL.coms would sell out. So to expect 26 times that number to sell out any time soon.....

17 million LLLLL.coms? Do the math- it will be many years even if domains continue to grow rapidly.

Nice pronouncable LLLLL.coms have some value now. You may want to lay in a few with excepitional letter quality. It would be an area I would look into if I were just starting, but go slowly. That ship - even the all-premiums - is not leaving for a long while, there is no hurry. A price jump form a sell out of LLLLL.coms like there was in LLLL.coms is far enough off to be irrelevant.

Nets are sometimes figured at 10% of the value of the same name in .com. Do the math.

I have no opinion on L-LL and LL-L.coms. There are not a whole lot of them but I do not know how much of a market there is.

Buy domains that you expect to pay at least 3 years in renewal fees. If you are good at finding buyers quickly (which most people aren't), buy names that your buyers will be willing to pay at least 5 years in renewal fees.

L-LL.com & LL-L.com buyout is going to happen sooner than later compared with 5L.com & 5L.net. I would bet on the ones where a buyout is in sight. L-LL.com, LL-L.com - in 0.5-1.5yrs i expect a good ROI i.e after the buyout. Just my thoughts.

IT all depends on who you are trying to market the domains to. Who knows if these names will be worth as much as everyone is saying. The way i look at it is if you get a good offer on one of these names sell it and invest in more of the same quality. Even if that same name sells for $4000 down the road and i only sold it for $200 at the time, i still will not regret this. The reason is that $200 let me invest in a few more names that have potential of being $4000 a piece. In the end i would be looking at $12000 instead of the $4000. So it all depends on who you are selling to and how much you are willing to take. Choices so many choices;)

Thats very well said...

Its true, i more or less have started to feel its luck, as you never know what might happen, if the rush goes on, its possible that after a year these domains will sell at $xxx a peice, and chances are they may sell at $xx...
So you never know, buy some nice ones till they are available...

I have decided to hold on my premium names for atleast 2 years or so....
