I would say get DO IT YOURSELF videos and categorize them into a directory site. each page with a different theme so the adsense will show relevant ads, also put up affilate banner only one on each page category. SO a Do it yourself video on lighting and you have a home depot affiliate link right there as an example.

Then it wouldn't be "Live", would it? ;)

I just had an amusing image of a bunch of tech support people, live, on TV, sitting around tapping pencils waiting for someone to call.

RING

Camera zooms in, the room bristles with activity an anticipation of questions. Technicians ready that massive computing databases to instantly zero in on the solution to whatever problem this caller may have....

Service Rep: LiveHelp.TV, can I help you? Uh huh... yes. no I, Listen... Sir.... SIR... No, I am NOT insteresting in changing my cellular carrier!

CLICK

Shoulders slump. People sit. Pencils begin tapping again.

They'd cut to commercial but there aren't any advertisers.

;)

Actually equity's idea isn't bad at all. Some people are visual learners and are quicker to pick something up if they see someone else performing it. Although it may be recorded it will allow people to pause/rewind etc to fully understand the concept of what they are trying to figure out.

I'm thinking maybe more for the future when someone can come into the site and ask a question of experts that are live and ready to answer via video

The future is now if YOU make it happen.

All the technology is available and with Skype you would be able to charge for the services by the minute. If you had experts in different subjects as independant contractors with the appropriate video equipment in their homes or officses and a premium Skype hookup for each, it technically could be done now. You could even have dozens of people as experts in any one subject and have a rating system that consumers could check out before they connected with that information provider.

Plus there would be a lot of ways to monetize this platform.

Hate to throw out correllations with the adult webcam business but technically what would be the difference?

If no one else is currently doing this , at least take a couple steps to see if it is doable on a profitable level.

A combination of live and recorded would be the best bet.

Or maybe you just have one live expert per day taking calls just like a radio show, then you could archive those shows:

plumbing
radio
computer
web site programming
automobile
painting
etc.

Just like the Saturday and Sunday AM home improvement or auto help shows. Could be another platform to syndicate their current shows.

I could go on and on with this.

Cheers!

Great post, WineGuy. This could be an 'anchor' domain, if you spent some time on it. I am intrigued with the idea of archiving each broadcast, but having a live specialist there every day to answer questions and such.

Perhaps you could work out an agreement where specialists would 'come in' for one day for free, answer the questions, and from that point on they earn a percentage of income that that archive earns you.

For example, any affiliate text links or such that get clicked from 'their' page or during 'their' broadcasts generates a commission that the two of you split, something like that.

Hmmm, overall, good domain, I like it.
