available Live in Japan? This is a gem!

Just doing some searching on godaddy and I came across poker.jp as being available. If you live in Japan, this is a gem just waiting to be grabbed!

It's probably just a bug in the Godaddy search, since poker.jp is alreday registered

If I ever come across a name that seems too good to be 'available' at Whois.sc, I'll Godaddy it. Whois is a little slow that way. Then if I Godaddy a great name and it's avail, I'll usually hit the back button, delete the word, retype it in again... and then it'll be taken. Don't know what that glitch is, but sometimes I even triple-check the great ones.

My heart really got to beating fast a few times, I can tell you. Especially when dui.info showed up as available awhile back

:imho: i think if whois.sc times out on a particular domain whois it just say "available" as default, esp. if that time you run a whois on a particular domain the registrar/whois service for that domain is down.

I also notice Whois will often show a name as available if that name is within a month or 2 - on either side - of being expired/renewed. Also, sometimes it REALLY glitches out and EVERYTHING shows available. You can type in car or sex or money and everything will show available. Then you just gotta swear and go have a drink and search the next day.

The biggest heartbeat I had with Godaddy was when tech.tv showed available. I said sh*t quite loudly when I typed it in a second time and it showed taken.

Welcome to Namepros.
The 'available domain names' section is actually for names that haven't been registered yet, it's where we post names we've invented but aren't going to register, so that others can get some use out of them. Kind of a gift forum.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking it's for sales, so don't sweat it. Go to the homepage, scroll down to the bottom of the forum list until you see 'send private message to staff'; then just sent them a message asking that this be removed from here and put in the 'sales' area. Be sure to tell them exactly where this is located - 'Live in Japan', in 'available domain names'. They'll move it for you.
Also, to sell your names, you need to start a 'new thread', not post a 'reply' in someone else's thread as you did here.
But no hay problemas, a lot of people make these mistakes right away, me included.
