Now my point with using both java and ajax.
installing java on linux is a comlicated task and some don't bother.
also its slow, java is noterious for being slow.
also some people may be in a public place when viewing namepros and a lot of public computers don't have java installed and wont allow people to install it.
plus wouldn't it be nice to have a choice?
Hey its not that big of a project really. all your doing in programming is this:
simple interface - takes 3 screens
one for current chat
two for entering text
three for buddy list.
small script to enter text from input to a db or flatfile. or other method.
small script to keep the current chat area updated
small script to list current users.
and boom you have a chat system. then all it takes is make new features many fairly simple because of them be based on text manipulation(simple stuff)
Plus it would give the np members the ability to make it work for them instead of them working for it.
Any thoughts?
