I just accepted a $500 reserve bid on Liquor.mobi and have let it go to auction on Sedo.com. It should be interesting to see how it does with the increased traffic on the Sedo site thanks to the 100 dot.mobi auctions starting on Sep. 26th.

As I mentioned on a previous thread, the ideal buyer for any dot.mobi is the dot.com owner but in this case Liquor.com hasn't been developed... yet. It looks like he has some smart plans for it though.

I think that's a very good point ... particularly with ™ 's and generics, IMHO. :gl:

Do you have a link to your Sedo auction? :talk:
Thanks muches.

It's an obvious point for TM's but generics like liquor.mobi could easily be built into their own sites independent of the .com. We can see that happening for .net and the other tlds so there is no reason the .mobi is excluded from that same opportunity.

Good luck with your auction Oboro, very nice name.

Thanks Guys. It looks like someone is going to get a deal on liquor.mobi - there hasn't been much interest and it could go for only $500.

FYI... I've thrown scores.mobi back into the Traffic Auction next month - the reserve is very low, so this time it will definitely sell. No auction shenanigans this time around. Dot.mobi faithful have an opportunity to load up this and next month.

:hi:

Thus far, has the increased traffic on the Sedo site buoyed folk's other concurrent .MOBI auctions listed at Sedo (if not in actual bids, at least in the number of views, clicks, potential interest, etc.)? :gl: :talk:

Thanks for any insight.

Maybe not - it looks like liquor.mobi is going to sell for $510 in less than three hours. This is a fraction of the offers I received last spring.

It's as good as a lot of the domains in the premium auction and someone is going to walk away with a great deal!!! :imho:

I had a few bids on this domain, but its gone over my limit of $1500

Wish I had more cash at bank, its a really hot domain, I will regret seeing this one in the future, after doing some research on liquor.com and seeing they have done 3 million in sales some years it even makes me more angry lolz...

but I only want to buy something if I have 100% cash oh well my loss

Same here. I can't afford more than $1,000 right now. If this goes for under 2,000, someone GOT A HELL OF A DEAL!!!!

Lesson learned. I should always keep cash on hand for late night Saturday night deals like this when nobody's looking. How appropriate that this is being sold when domainers are out drinking in the bars!! :hehe:

2676 now. Maybe the buyer is Sedo, I heard they are buying up .mobi names.

yeah well its Sunday where I am so of course I am not out yet....

but yeah this is a really hot domain name, if mobi takes off in the future this one will be a big winner.

I have some people over atm who don't know much about domains at all, I said this one was up for auction they all siad have a bid its worth it ect ect, this been form people who have no idea about mobi's or even .com's for that matter.

=(

Someone told me that a name I had a bidding war against that I was bidding against Sedo for the name. I don't know if it's true or not.

people always say stuff like that... conspiracy theories make the world more fun i guess.

I don't know why it would be out of the realm of possibility that Sedo would start buying up names. But, from a conflict of interest standpoint, to bid on their own auctions without disclosure would maybe not be good. Again, I'm not saying they are doing it, it's just something that someone told me. I have no idea if it's true.
