it's been almost 10 months since i started building a portfolio of .LINK domains, and as of today my portfolio consists of 1,700 domains with 50% being "single word" and the rest consisting of "two words"
Something that may be of interest is that 50% of the .link names I've registered, while having a .com equivalent, are either for sale, don't execute, or in a number of cases land at an unsuspecting website? For example; Fruit.com takes you to "Fruit of the Loom" underwear, Dollar.com leads to "Dollar Rent a Car" and Retirement.com leads to "Prudential". I share this because I believe it not only "adds value" to my .com equivalent .link, but it expands the field of potential buyers for my portfolio of .link domains.
To recap, i've invested a little over 10K to accumulate a portfolio that would be valued at well over 10 Million dollars "if" the domains were .com's. However, i luv to quote a friend of mine who likes to remind me, "IF" my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle
The other thing I'd like to share is that Namebio shows 2,360 domains sold that use the keyword "link". Why is this significant? I'll let you be the judge, but it's for the very same reason I plan to use the name Linkedin with it's 744+ Million Members to help promote .link worldwide.
Finally, with ".LINK being no worse than .XYZ", it's a foregone conclusion that .link domains will be the hottest gTLD by year end.
ps. no sales to report YET, but one pending that will pay for over a thousand renewals by this time next year.
