hi, i have a relative who owns www.chesh ire ling erie.co.uk (sorry about the spaces i dont want this to appear in search engines if they type in the name of the site, at its peak it was earning about £2k a month (that was about 6months after opening) it can easily earn £1k without even really trying to promote it) at the minute its earning about £800 a month because they are kinda busy with other commitments but to get it back up to earning what its capable of would only take a day or 2 (just advertising it in the places she normally advertises) the only reason shes not doing this is because of time.

so erm yea i was just wondering does anyone know how much this site would be worth?

If its earning £1k a month odd, then i would say you could sell it for around £6,000 - 10,000, because generally you sell profit making companies / sites for 6 - 10 months profit :)

Woah, I don't know much about profit making sites but this sure looks very potential to me for someone who wants to earn big bucks.

A general rule of thumb is between 18 and 24 months profit. Good luck with the sale if you decide to sell.

i wasnt sure exactly what profit is acheivable in a general month, can you redefine this? :tu:

There are so many factors involved in valuing a business that throwing out a number is pointless. A good rule of thumb is that a business is worth three years net profit. Generally a small business is not worth much to anyone but the proprietor who earns his livelihood from it. This is because the “profit” disappears as soon as you pay the proprietor a salary for doing his job.

I would recommend keeping the business for now and spending the day or two required to boost the earnings by 250%. It's just plain common sense. Who wouldn't work for two days to make £1,200?

If time is an issue then consider hiring someone to look after it. If you do that then you'll know exactly what the profit is – what you stick in your pocket every month for doing nothing. Then you can multiply that by 36 and that's what any number of people would be willing to pay for the business, subject of course to due diligence.

thanks for that, the site isnt for sale (unless obviously theres an amazing offer) It was more just to find out its worth and if primas value is correct then like i said its worth much more than the 6-10k someone else stated

anyway thanks for the replies
