the shorter the DN, the more its worth!!! The long ones are remaining only

because people were smart enough to get the smaller ones first. Plus its

easier to go to...lets say LTC.com than lion-tiger-cow.com

Not my opinion.

4 letter .com's will be the next "bigger" thing :imho:

Short 3 letter . ext 's will become even more popular in the different extensions.

thread moved from Expired Domains to Domain Name Discussion

All 3-letter/3-number/3-char .com are taken. Most 4-letter .com are taken as well. This niche market is driven largely by limited supply versus universal demand, hence the outrageous prices.

I doubt you want 4 character, you probably want 4 letter or 4 number (No 4 #'s avail).

Go to download.com and download expired domain sniffer or domain name analyzer. Expired domain sniffer is idiot proof, but the trial expires early. Domain name analyzer is free, but requires some work to setup.

An example of a 4 character name would be 4z8e.com where as a 4 letter name is something such as ifjh.com. The difference is that character names contains numbers (or a hyphen) as well and just not letters. :)

thankyou for that program :). Also, I don't think there are any 3 letter or # domain names left in .com, and it is really hard to find a reasonable .com these days, because all the good ones are taken. I am guessing that this is the reason lots of people are starting to move towards newer extensions. I personally am a big fan of .info domain names mainly because they are cheap :)

There are also the 5 number .COMs which there are only 100000 of and half are taken. Some people are more interested in them than the 4 letter .COMs.
