Ok the first time I posted my site people didn't like it but i've been working hard the past few weeks and followed most of their advice and I really like the outcome. So I lost the .tk, added a template, and did other little things. See for yourself: http://www.gamersandwebdesign.com

ok... to start - it took WAY too long to load. Too many large images imo.

and ACK - lose the background sound!!!! eugh.

The logo looks outta place, and all the text is the wrong color, try changing the font-family to arial or tahoma and changing the size of it.

Then come back (again) and show us.

I really don't want to sound rude, but what exactly have you been doing "for the last few weeks"? It's text, with a misplaced, color mismatched logo on a black background?
In firefox and IE the menu background graphic does not show up. In both browsers clicking the links brings about all kinds of madness with the content loading in the menu etc etc... I am guessing you created this in Frontpage? At least the menu component looks like it came out of Frontpage.

I'd say, use the graphics you have, but start over and use standard xhtml and css and attempt to learn as you go along. Don't throw together a bunch of different things and expect it to look good... See it as a learning experience and don't rush.
As it is now, the site has terrible functionality, and simply does not work.

While Waeggles puts it almost in a harsh way, essentially he's right. I'm not going into the functionality as he's covered it, however, your logo is cut off, the GDWD is just somehow placed in there and doesn't flow at all. Then you follow up with a standard graphic, the green arrows, and throw another GDWD into it. You need a decent logo to start with, it's your (virtual) business card. Once you have one in place, use it consequently throughout the site. (it's simple marketing 101) If you have NP$ or a few bucks cash and a paypal account, you should post in the contest section, explain what you're looking for and ask the NPers for their ideas.
The static black background has to go, you're trying to appeal to gamers that are dedicated to web design, at the minimum, you need to be at least equal or better than the better designers that could potentially visit your site.

Without putting more out there, unfortunately there's lots more where this came from, for this type of project you may have set your expectations a bit too high. My suggestion: Take the site down and place a "Under Construction" page there, start surfing and see what others are doing, look through the review thread here, there are some kickass sites. Then go back to planning on paper, BEFORE you get back behind the monitor. Find out what you want to do, what it should look like and how you think you can accomplish your goal. I definitely encourage you to tap into the vast resources that NP can offer for you.
