"This is an Everlasting opportunity for all you investors out there to own this very unique dot com website domain name without content."
Aww too bad this one doesn't have comments like the #1.

Look at some names for sale by this member... Hmm don't look at the names... Doesn't matter if they are crappy or no.
Do a whois check. Who's the Registrar? GoDaddy? Yes...
Scroll down in his auction.
"**Note: There is a $15 domain name transfer fee."
Hmm... Now people charge for pushing in GoDaddy? Heh
Here's another one:

You have to love the greedy morons on ebay. I get a kick out of looking at some of the auctions. If you want a truely unique experience where people are paying outrageous sums of money legitamately on ebay, check out the ebay motors section for the highest priced cars. You will see some beauties... Now, if only there could be a similar market for high priced domain names on ebay.

I get a kick out of it too. Millions of dollars for an incorrectly spelled name! It seems the only domains that sell are the one word ones and also the 3 letter or 2 letter acronyms. There's your million dollar domains and your 1 cent domains. Kind of screwed up.

I did see a good auction not too long ago on Ebay. It was for will.com. It never reached the reserve and the auction ended at $40,100.00

I love when they say...

"Trusted Ebay Seller!!!" and all they have is like 30 fedbacks. LOL.

And how about this joker...

NEED WE SAY MORE

Yes, yes you do need to say more.

Well, on second thought, don't, buddy.

#1 is the recording breaking domain. It has to have the 1 to beat sex.com selling for 12 million. #2 is in GBP. The currency conversion makes it have the extra $200 USD.

they charge transfer fee to avoid paying eBay's final price fee.

How Ironic!

undefinedThe irony in all this is you are giving him (therecordbreakingdomain.com) just what he wants......Publicity!! Look at his Ebay counter. Was over 1240 last I looked. Of course he isn't going to sell it for $12,000,0001. That isn't the point. I am sure he is driving plenty of traffic to his site, though. :hehe:

oops! sorry I made the text soooo BIG!

ebay is a good place to drive in traffic.
Either set your price very low or unacceptably high,
traffic will rush in.

This domain name has nearly 40,000 occurrences in Googleโ€™s serps. It also appears in Googleโ€™s โ€œUseless Pagesโ€ section of their directory, below such notables as TheMillionDollarHomepage.com and RentMyChest.com. I don't think this thread is making more than a drop in the bucket when it comes to all the publicity this interesting domain (idea) has generated.

Kind regards,
Kimmy

I actually did an experiment setting to the highest value at ebay. Traffic was somewhat increased for a short period of time but did not have any click. What I did get were a couple of angry messages from other ebayers with cursing comments.

I don't know about others but I didn't go to his site. I only visited his auction. What good does that do, really, for such a low value domain? Now if he was a resonablel person and started the auction at a penny, then he might have gotten about $20 for it and at least he would have made soemthing. But with a BIN for such a ridiculous price, why does it matter if he gets 1 or 1 million auction page views.

Correction: Well, I guess it might do him some good seeing how he has links to his blog and such.
