Ok,
NNN, and NNNN .US are the rarest of all???
I have been investigating .US domains.
I have discovered that the only .US domains available are NNN and NNNN
Neustar, explains it like this
The following domains cannot be registered
All numbers five digits and higher
ok, so if all numbers five digits and higher cannot be registered that leaves only 10, 999 number domains for the complete TLD of .us number domains.
Wouldn't that make the .us technically have the fewest possible numbered domains?
The crazy thing is there are still a ton of NNNN available.
Does anyone have any opinions and/or insights on this?
Also another thing I personally speculate about the .US domain is continued growth.
Although there are new extensions all the time (I think you'd agree its getting ridiculous), there can never, ever be another .us, as it is the country code.

The following domains cannot be registered
- All numbers in the format five digits-four digits (zip codes)
- All telephone numbers including toll-free numbers
- Tagged domain names — all labels with hyphens in the third and fourth character positions (e.g. “bq–kn2n4h4b”) (cited from Neustar FAQ under there support tab)
