Less Clicks Since Friday?

I'm wondering if it's just me, or if anyone else has experienced a significant decrease in the number of clicks per day since Friday. For some peculiar reason, the number of clicks since Friday has fallen dramatically, to almost 1-2 clicks a day (which is absolutely pathetic). At the same time, the number of visitors has remained the same and the sites that were affected the most are supposed to increase in their PR from 0 to whatever, not the other way around. It's been going on for a few days now and I am seriously beginning to worry.

Can anyone else relate to this? Or is this something that's limited to me alone?

Regards,
George

I haven't even gotten a click since Friday.

I know, it hurts...

This is peculiar indeed... Do you normally get clicks on a daily basis, Srb? Like I said, what truly puzzles me is not so much the sudden fluctuation in clicks, but that it is not at all accompanied by a decrease in the number of visitors (which is what I would normally expect to happen). Even more bizzare, this is the first time I'm suffering from such low income levels in the month since I put my sites online - they have always performed relatively well (Saturdays often being the exception).

I'm beginning to suspect that something might be wrong with the ads supplied by Google, but we definitely need to hear from more people before we can determine whether this is a general trend or not.

Mine stats are a bit lower too, but I wouldn't accuse Google, maybe it's a wrong phase of the moon or something :D

Interestingly enough, I just did some maths and compared my Jan 1 - Jan 26 average to the post-Friday one - I'm looking at an almost 400% drop in the number of clicks!

I normally get around 4-5 clicks a day..

Sometimes a few of those are from here with the ad revenue sharing

I get a dropoff about every week or so on the weekends, but it picks up during the week. It's entirely possible that people were clicking on a certain ad and that advertiser doesn't advertise anymore. Happened to a friend of mine.

Well, my clicks seem to have picked up starting Wednesday, but I'm still worried about the Friday-Tuesday slump, since it was far worse than my usual weekend fluctuation. Perhaps you are right about people clicking on redundant ads, though.

I suppose more people click on ads at work. When they get home, their kids have already taken over the computer. Weekends are for play, except during seasonal/holiday events. Valentines day comes to mind.

I notice about a 30% drop on the weekends, but it picks right back up on Monday.

Sunday I had 336 clicks. Today I'm at 457 and counting.

.

i would have to agree with that (from my experiance)
more so with sites loosely related to business, games sites and entertainment not as much and more after work/school hours the visitors come

If you don't mind me asking what is ad revenue sharing?!? Thanks.

Many people get paid on Friday. Which means they're tallying up bills and where all that hard earned cash is going to go. That also means that fewer people buy things that they "want" on Fridays, which means less interest in ads.

I remember back in my school days that one of my instructors would talk about not buying a car made in November, December, or on a Monday or a Friday. He'd check the little sticker inside the door to check the date, if it fell in any of the above, he'd move to the next one. Seems that people make poorer quality items during these times. Well, I should say "made" since a big chunk of that business is now robotic, LOL!
