For the most part people can see your intentions, so long as you let it drop and do not attempt to profit off it you will be okay, most people are reasonable.
It is only when you start confusing people and siphoning traffic using the mark of a company that you will get noticed.
This is not an invite for everyone to register dodgy domains and hold them for a few years till someone dies, but it is only when you make a big splash that people tend to notice.
Just let it die slowly and you should be fine
You could of course email the official website and offer to push it to them
without charge so you can get rid of it in the best way you know how.
A fine is possible, but generally speaking you just end up with a C&D and then a UDRP...which John Berryhill in the legal section would be far better explaining than me lol
