Layout Stealer

I just found a site that stole my layout. I made it 6 months ago and put it in my free layouts section with my copyright...and now they stole it and put there copyright on it.
I just made this post to warn others about this. Peolple can just veiw your source code and use you layout. These layout stealers think that the web is so vast that they will never be found.

If it is a free layout, would they not add their copyright for the materials they put in around the template to make it their site?

No they copyrighted the template. It said template made by Anime-celticz

It's probally not really copyrighted. Just some kids who wanted to put their name there. It's not like they really stole it because its free. Plus most templates on free template sites say they would appreciate if they keep their name at the bottom, but it's not nessecary. I think that ripper site is for cases where people actually take a site ripper and take all the images and html of the site and use it as their own template. Not free templates for everyone to use but just removed the credit at the bottom.

I get a page cannot be displayed now for the alleged rippers link so I guess this got resolved already.

its not really copyrighted. you just put your name/site there so that people can credit you. they obviously take free things for granted, and simply replaced your name with theirs.

oh...ok!! So they just replaced the name? I thought they really coprighted it. It would be funny to see them waste $30 copyrighting my template.

I've used ripperhunting to bring down a site. It's both flattering and ANNOYING when someone jacks a site you put many hours into.

^heh...I actually was happy that someone was using my free templates and they thought that it was good but then when i saw the copyright thing i got really pissed off...
