I have no time to upload styles any more and have lost basic enthusiasm to run this site whatsoever. The potential on this site is immense, it's an untouched niche on any large scale. The site basically is a designer resource where users can download .ASL files and save them in photoshop. .ASL files are 'layer styles' which can be further described as a set of actions performed on a layer saved in one file (Basically some effects in a file which can be used on layers such as text)
I went for text effects on layerstyles.com due to it's demand by general designers. The site itself is run off off of wordpress and it's functioning pretty well. The site uses a heavily modified theme which to my knowledge is no longer availible (creators site leads to a domain landing page).
There is no mods involved with the site and the download links are created by simple [<p class=""></p>] to create the box around the download link.
In return for users sending me their layerstyles to place on the site for free download, i offer them a link on my site and i imagine the better pagerank this site gets the more submissions you can expect to recieve. This site just needs a little promotion and you're on your way. I have not placed any advertisements on the site yet but planned to do so soon.
The traffic is minimal and has recieved about 25~ uniques this month. I have already had several layer styles donated and if you advertise on graphics forum i guarentee results.
The domains are reg'd at Namecheap.com and a free push is in order. The owner has to move the site to their own server.
