Greetings... I am a little new to the web development arena. I am a professional graphic artist trying to complete my personal site. I am having a problem though and haven't seen this problem talked about much so don't know if it's just me or something I am doing.

My problem lies within using layers. I had placed some copy to be used over top a background image in my web pages. This seems to work fine after I discovered that sizing my text in a CSS file using pixels to define my font size worked great for geting my text same size on different platforms and browers but I have another problem. The layers I placed the copy on tend to sit higher on the page in Explorer than Safari or Firefox. I can't seem to figure this out. It causes alighment problems with graphics. The layer is set for absolute positioning at something like 215px from the top but... 215px in Explorer looks like 200px.

I am working on a mac with Dreamweaver MX 04 and viewing the pages in Safari, Firefox, and Explorer 5.2 if this makes any difference. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only work-around I can come up with is to make layer sit at 0px from the top and just use line breaks to space my copy down to height I need but this doesn't seem like best method.
