Thank goodness! D-: :tri:
Nothing like a "free" promotion to motivate a little mining. Over the past week, I've been jockying around a list, and finally regged my "final" 25 yesterday.

Nearly every name category that I've searched, of late, has been filled w/ new reg dates ranging from 9/02/04- 12/30/04, and little .info gems have grown scarce. I did manage to pluck a couple of decent ones, including databases.info, on the final day, but mostly settled on branders ie whowiz.info, DefineIt.info, SolveIt.info, and Factopedia.info.

It appears that Afilias' move to seed the market has been an overwhelming success. Now it's left up to the developers to stimulate the growth of the tld.

I would be surprised if 5% of all the .info domains were renewed next year. Most of them are junk. I am sooooooooooooo glad this free promotion is over :D

I am a little more optimistic and think a projected 5% renewal rate is a little low, but who knows? I think the rewards will come to those who bite the bullet and develop some sites or cough up their money for renewals and hold on for 2 more years.

But that's coming from the perspective that sees .info becoming one of the powerhouse exts on the net.

Low???

I think it'll be more like a 1-2% renewal rate. Will you renew any of your domains? I might try to renew 2 of the ones I have but I will let all the others drop and I'm pretty sure most people are the same way.

Ya, I agree with Qwert. I am planning on renewing 1-2 of my domains MAX. I think a lot of people wont renew any. Then again, I dont have any great .info domains , so there isnt much reason to renew. I think it will be around 3-4% renewal rate.

I chose all mine with development in mind so will mostly renew 90% at least.
