Next to the domain is roughly what I have been told by a "professional appraiser" not quite sure if I agree. I feel his values might be to high. I feel like he is about double what they are actually.

If I owned SmellTest.com and received inquires I would quote a 20-30K price!
I remember skitest.com sold for $10,000USD.....
The rest I would drop, or keep 12months and then drop if no inbound inquiry.

Thanks for the reply! I am going to reach out to some of the universities that offer Mineral Science degrees and see what they say. Yea I probably won't ask that much for SmellTest, might even do something with it. The .net's I think will sell actually they seem to be getting more traction lately but I only value them around $50-$150 myself each depending on which one it is

Did you pay for the appraisals? Usually those are scams... well I'd say always.

I did not, just your typical self proclaimed domain professional lol

Personally, I would try and sell them to fellow domainers, I cant see any commercial use for these names

I think smelltest has sth to do with perfumes. Professors are rich dudes. Many of them own business. They might start a industry site to gain fame.

yes, that may be true, but most of them use the name of their brand for their domain

SmellTest.com seems quite nice.

Watery.net? It sold for $100 in 2008.
watery.net 100 USD 2008-06-05
So probably worth $5-$30 today. I wouldn't reg it if it was available.

RightHanded.net ($1XX)
LeftHanded.net ($1XX)
These two seem nice.

Why does the .net price drop? Doesn’t the good names getting fewer and fewer?

But watery.net is not a good name. I don't have exact stats right now, but average domain name prices have dropped about 5 to 8 times since 2008. And this concerns especially non-premium domains. You can find a lot of available .net and .org domains that were sold for $100-$500 a few years back. I recently hand regged available .org that sold for $2000 a few years ago.

Good names getting fewer and fewer, so maybe water.net or fire.net is worth more than it was in 2008. But I assure you watery.net is not this category.

Correct I agree that .net values have dropped. It has to be the right buyer and the right domain now a days.
