I'm not sure how well the subdomain approach works in this case, as I think you'll lose quite a bit of traffic to the full .info name -- if you develop a community there is potential, but I'm not a big fan of the subdomain appraoch

I'll redirect inux.info to l.inux.info when I am done, if that is what you mean.
Of course, if you mean linux.info there is not much I can do about that other than try to strengthen the name as ell dot inux dot info...

Refrozen what I think he means is that he doesn't like using the sudomain (l.inux.info = subdomain).

I myself don't know what to appraise the domain at, its a clever idea, not sure its true value.

I don't think that the domain name is worth much - mid $XX.

The value of your site is another thing. How much money are you making out of the 1000 uniques a day? You can estimate how much you could make but ultimately a buyer would want to know info about past revenues.

If your site grows and establishes itself as an important Linux community and l.inux.info becomes a recognised brand then it will gain value.
