Hi,

Need an appraisal for Kumete.com

A kumete is a hand carved decorative container or a ceremonial kava bowl, used in the South Pacific. Access website for details and pics.

There also a big sauna equipment manufacturer which goes by this name, in Finland, called Kumete.fi

I receive a lot of emails from people looking to buy or sell kumete :)

Any thoughts on a fair value ?

Thanks !

That's a neat domain name EricW. I live on an island in Polynesia and use a mahogany kumete for a fruit bowl so they are a very functional work of art.

They're more of a one-off item rather than a mass produced product so there may not be a large firm in a position to make you a solid offer for kumete.com. The fact that you receive emails from people wanting to buy or sell one is very encouraging though and adds value, so my ballpark appraisal is 7-10K+.

That the Finnish sauna firm's website is not translated into any other languages indicates to me that they are probably very focussed on their home market for sales and installations, so the .com version may only be of interest to them for a lowish amount.

Strikes me as a difficult name to get more than a few hundred dollars for, unless the sauna company contacts you first. Then 4 figures.
It's a nice brandable, especially for anything with a South Pacific theme (restaurant, gallery, food brand, travel agency, etc.). But you would have to wait for the right buyer.
And then you could try to sell these things youself. Some fetch a pretty penny.

Thank you for your appraisals! So, basically, I should try to market this domain name to an end user... ;)
