A healthy person can function normaly on one kidney. Often adults donate one to a brother or sister that matches. Its illegal to sell organs in the US but I'm sure there is a big black market in the third world.

Maybe that's old, but William Shatner can't even sell a kidney stone on Ebay... :) Guess they don't want people "harvesting" the organs from people. If someone thought they could get 7 million by ripping a kidney out of you, well...it wouldn't be pretty...

ebay take any auction down like this. The selling of body parts is a strict no-no and quite rightly so.

Long story, but I was told I needed surgery to correct a problem and 4 years and no medical insurance later, still waiting... lol, been thinking of posing as an immigrant so I can qualify for free medical! ;)

I don't know if you said this as a joke or not, but that's how crazy this country is. Although it's wrong (legally at least), I've suggested to people without insurance to go to the hospital and give fake names. I always have some type of insurance, but I know a lot of people that have had problems where they were broke, with no insurance and needed medical care. That's why countries like Cuba have popular medical facilities, everyone gets free medical care and treatment.

I lost my insurance when the plant I worked at closed and when you have a pre-existing condition, it's hard to get picked back up again or too expensive.

Where I work now, you have to work a minimum of 35 hrs a week to qualify for insurance and I have trouble enough doing 20.

It's a sad fact that many fall through the cracks in this country who have lived here and paid taxes all their lives...

But let's not get OT.. eBay should and would take that auction off if informed of it.

That's why I find it hard to accept that the USA has the right to preach and impose its values around the world, never mind call itself a SuperPower.

In my opinion a country that does not provide free health care is a 'Third World Country'.

Move to Canada Dave. I heard they help out their citizens with free medical care. The only downside is superhigh taxes.

As for the thread... I've been contemplating over the idea of selling my kidney on eBay for the last month or two. :P Now I know it wont work.

I'd love to relocate to Canada someday.. unfortunately, to emigrate there you need to meet certain criteria for work, finances, etc. (unlike the US who lets in just about everyone, lol)

Yeah, they yank these types of sales pretty quick!

For 5.7 million dollars... I'd consider selling a kidney! D-: Geez, I could do a lot of living on that kinda money before the one left wore out!

I had a childhood friend who had only one kidney and except for his mother constantly nagging us not to be "too rough with Johnny" he never slowed down!

I have generally heard people out of the USA call the USA a SuperPower more so then it being a self imposed lable

Also, do you even know what a "Third World Country" is? If you did you would know your opinion has nothing to do with its defination, so seems rather worthless.
