Can anybody advise me what the period of the search is when you do a keyword search at...

Wordtracker's - freekeywords.wordtracker.com
Trellian's - keyworddiscovery.com

Is there anything better than these two now Overture's keyword search is dead?

Yes, Word Tracker is daily search volume.

Ok. So Wordtracker is daily. How about Trellian?

Trellian is for the month, like Overture. You can also try the Microsoft tool http://adlab.microsoft.com/Keyword-Forecast/KeywordTrendsWeb.aspx. It is very good.
