KatherineMcPhee.com sold for $1075 on eBay

I think someone got a pretty good deal, especially when ConstantineMaroulis.com sells to none other than Constantine Maroulis himself for $5k fairly recently. For those not in the know, Katherine McPhee was the runner up in this year's American Idol. She sang pretty well and was a total fox to boot. Link to her American Idol page

Discuss!

Edit: Googled and found a link to the closed auction...whew!

And davezan, you have no idea just how smoke'n this girl was... Like a Katie Holmes w/o all the weird scientology/father issues.

Indeed. I'm not sure if I'd rate her higher than Carmen Rasmussen of Season 2 (the one on the left thank heaven!), but nonetheless McPhee made Idol worth watching this season. I personally think Chris should have won but he was too stuck on hard rock. Eliott was a great singer but looked like a total monkey...no star appeal at all!

I agree that it will be a valuable name if she does have a decent career, but I think the way the auction was set up was to intentially mislead the buyer. That's why I say someone got screwed. I have 6 or 7 misspellings of her name and even I didn't catch it at first. I'm sure the new owner probably didn't either. The seller should have stated that it was a misspelling.

The ironic thing is that, as I pointed out earlier, that typo in particular actually has HIGHER OVT w/ext than the real deal. w/o ext the typo is about 1/3rd as searched as her correct spelling...I think again given the sale of Constantine's name to Constantine earlier this year, that could prove to be worth it despite the typo. The seller may be losing out despite trying to deceive buyers!

FYI: KATHARINE MCPHEE .COM is owned by Netnames .Net (located in London) and it expires in December of next year.

The Brit outfit claims it's just been registered by a "client" of theirs (the site is still undeveloped) but really THEY are the only listed holders (or should that be hoarders?). And they regged it back in December of 2005.
