it's not arrogant, to be truthful, to use words that are commonly used and have been used as adjectives to describe the quality or lack of, when referring to a domain name.

IF....and that's a big IF, you can take your EGO out of the equation.

then your ass might learn something.

it's only the mo-fo who can put self aside, to let brain soak up some science and philosophy, as expressed and applied....from mo-fo's who learned before them, who'll make it to next level.

I mean be real, the same folks you admire and worship are arrogant as hell in their own way, but you have no problem quoting their sayings and what they sold this and that for and so on and so on.

but let a nobody like me, say your name is crap, and your panties start crawing up your izz-zass.

when that happens, then just pull em out, go change drawls and come back ready for more.

you'll appreciate it in the end, I guarantee

In my opinion the point is that NO ONE ( unless stupid ) wouldn't be happy to be helped and be given positive advice..you know...THAT kind of advice. If a domainer can't remove himself and his ego then that is not help that is judgement, arrogance, " my names are better than yours ", ENVY,,,etc etc.

Being self confident doesn't necessarily mean being arrogant; people who are really successful in life are those who, even with million of sales and tons of prizes, remain humble and still look at their industry willing to learn from it. Those who go around with arrogance because they have been on NP for 10 years or because they bought names for 5 years are embarassing themselves.

Who posts " your name is crap " " that's worthless " " better drop it and study " ..... doesn't do that with intent of helping and that's quite clear. The interesting thing is that most of the times I click on that domainer's link and what I see is LMAO!!!! Like..seriously??? YOU are the one bringing that person's work down????
Then I realize that it doesn't matter how long you have been in whatever business for..if you are an arrogant axxhole THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE!!! It's soooooo easy! People are people first..then they are domainers, bookkepers,lawyers....

Conclusion : if your advice is not really meant to help someone please keep it for yourself as it wouldn't be a good one anyway.

*** My post is not referred to anyone in particular; no name and surname here : just a general thought ***

ANd I still own:
WORLDSWORSTDOMAINER.COM

WORLDSWORSTDOMAINS.COM

Never developed just because of no time.

Though the second, I could just load up with the domains found on namepros!

I feel really bad when people register terrible names, and they try to pitch them to me as I am doing sales.

Especially the ones that tell me my name isn't worth $15, but theirs is not even worth the electricity that it takes to save that tiny bit of data that identifies them as the owner.

As your 2014 resolution, stop buying bad domains.

Read every forum thread (right here on NamePros) you can, learn what is a good name and what isn't and why.

It will only help you in the long run.

Also, if you know a domain is worth something don't listen to other domainers telling you it isn't worth anything. If the metrics support the domain then it's a good buy and should be an easy sell.

Kind of a catch 22 isn't it.

Such is the culture. Best of luck to you all.

LOL I love the contradiction. I have gotten your spam emails selling your crap domains LOL.

I'm pretty sure we have all had that experience of buying/reging crap names. What most don't think about is that time will kill of any "good" domains you have. For instance, back in 1994 at the boom of everything, someone could have reged a nice domain name that could have been gold in that era, but now is completely useless. So, you have to be specific when reging domains, and be aware of the time constraints they could have.

Gotta flow with the changing times, and keep your domains up to standards; drop all the domains that you see have no present/future. Once the entire US has legalized marijuana, how good will domains be when everyone has one? Want to sell a domain at a higher price, make sure the demand/supply is in your favor.

..hey, i got an email from you with that offering today ..not sure what made you think i could be interested since i hardly know what "Blackberry Kush" is, but it's ok with me, no problem

there was a link to ebay listing with $4,500 starting bid.
sorry, i had to pass on, maybe next time... just wanted to save you some $$ in case you were going to call me too :)

AppYum..... how about you try sending targeted, personalized emails to qualified end users instead of spamming a bunch of random domainers? You'd be doing us all a favor. Domain spam paints a bad picture of all of us...
