Hello everyone

I purchased this domain name and now it is in 45 days auction lock. So I thought to myself, that in the mean time I could get this appraised.

So what do you think would be price that I could get for it? What marketplace you would suggest as best fit for LLLL.coms?

Thanks a lot

Just go to namebio and for the pattern put llll and then select .COM, see the average sales there, you only selected the top few names, check DNJournal as well

Here are some of the others, some with a lot better letters than the OP's name, its not all about being pronounceable with these names, if the letters are good, then there are plenty of acronyms for the name

I agree, but not only that, if you look at most of these domains, these prices are also driven higher by the Chinese market. Mostly CCCC minus V. Without the Chinese market, these prices would probably be significantly lower.

It appears that the name used to belong to these guys in Costa Rica

Definitely worth sending an email!
They may pay more than domainer market value of high $xx to low $xxx

low xxx mid if lucky and I put my money where my mouth is, I would buy this for probably $155 but I stopped taking crazy chances 10 years ago. I can absorb the risk in however the wind blows. But I don't appraise without an explanation. Here's my personal reason.

It's a risky investment. What you may have paid for it has no bearing on value. That's why domains sell all the time for less then what owner paid for it. The only good letter in the domain is "I" and even that is not as preferable a letter in terms of what sells as you may think. (Yes I've analyzed 2-4 letter domains down to single letters, frequency, price range etc). And don't put so much attention on "reported sales". Drop auctions almost always sell for higher then market value and some sales are just fake to prop-up segments. Do you think you were the ONLY domainer monitoring this name and pushed buy and they decided it was not worth even $110+ $1 extra dollar?

Just from saying the domain causes confusion to spelling. Is it Jivee, JYV, Jyvee, jivE, Jayvee, JieVe, JivE, JyVie you get the picture. If you have to spell out the name for someone EVERYTIME you tell it to them, value goes down considerably. It takes money to brand names like this and it's extra work which detracts from perceived value and focusing on product and/or services rather then marketing resources.

Another test is if the first 3 letters bring up crappy non-competitive google results- leave it alone.

This post is simply meant to offer my advice. Sure you may sale it for a lot more, I hope you do. But if you are a gambling man and this is texas hold-em poker- you have a 2-7 (offsuit) hoping for a 7-7-2 flop.

Best fortunes,

James

Whatever Giles, whatever. You always want to be right. I just wonder how many lllls you own, have traded and sold recently.

quite a few actually and yourself..relax buddy...Just a but of banter with people having their own opinions...it all helps the OP in the end

Yes opinions help, but related recent sales help even more.

They were all recent sales, not just x,xxx sales

They were all recent sales, not just x,xxx sales

They sure were, but as a mentioned before you can't simply take all the llll sales. This is a specific llll a CVCV or a CVCV containing a Y that is what it has to be compared with. Pears with pears , apples with apples.

So the sales I posted were relevant as they were all CVCV or CVCV with a Y; yours weren't. It is really that simple and I won't explain it any further.

No problem, the names you posted were far superior, hence the higher price, we will just agree to disagree
