ok besides the people who yawn at fantasy i am looking to migrate this to a non ad board and would like feedback to make it a more attractive site for narnia and lotr fans or general users.

U might want to get a good hosting and install a free forum instead.
a website is pretty plain if u dont have a webpage up and not all ppl like browsing in forums.

THe header is good. The color of your forum is not so good.

That's a mighty big header you got there. Cutting down on its size would dramatically decrease bandwidth usage and increase usability - it takes up most of the "above the fold" space.
